Babette’s Healing

Get it

“Cis people are…” what. Cis people are what, Ferdinand? Are you going to mock their biology? Are you going to measure their skulls?

Nothing good can happen after “x people are…”. You’re just punching. Whether it’s up or down, it’s just punching. You can’t build the world you want, the one we need, by punching. Ok ok, I didn’t say any of this. I can’t ever say this to the disenfranchised people I cavort with. I have to go real slow. Real real slow. They’re expressing pain in the way our despiritualised, disembodied culture has permitted them to — by grouping people and then critiquing them. By turning the tables. That’s the problem with turning the tables. When you’re finished, you just have an upturned table.

Instead, could we invite powerful people to our table? What happens, do you suppose, when Elon Musk visits a community gathering and receives the warmth and love that sustains disenfranchised communities? Does he come back next week with mining equipment? Or does he take the hint and begin his own healing? I think we can nudge these people toward healing.
